Gloria Roubal is a Champaign-Urbana–based singer-songwriter, guitarist, and recording artist who creates melodic, guitar-based alt-pop with strong hooks and thoughtful lyrics. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Fiona Apple, Jonatha Brooke, and Sheryl Crow, her music blends reflective, emotionally resonant songwriting with an honest, soulful edge.
Throughout her career, Gloria has been involved in a wide range of musical projects. She has led her original band G. Lee & Jet Blonde, performed in acoustic duos including The Double Dots (with David Howie) and Paul & Gloria (with Paul Sabuco), explored experimental textures with Sea of Stars (with Jason Finkelman), and performed with funk and cover bands such as Soul Circle, Upside Out, and The Brat Pack. These varied collaborations have shaped a sound that is both grounded and flexible, rooted in songcraft while open to exploration.
Currently, Gloria performs solo acoustic shows in and around Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, and hosts Writers in the Round, a songwriter showcase she organizes at The Rose Bowl in Urbana. The series reflects her ongoing commitment to supporting local and regional songwriters and fostering community through music.
With five full-length albums and one EP released to date, Gloria’s most recent album, I Used to Float, was released on December 5, 2025. The record brings together songs written across different seasons of her life, pairing longtime favorites with newer work.
